Everest View Trek

Everest being a part of the great Himalaya range has a lot to offer to every level of trekkers. Everest view trek is a short trek in the Everest region itself which offers a close up look at the world’s tallest peak and the most rare and rich Sherpa culture. This trek is aimed at visitors who wish to see the world’s tallest mountain yet have a short and sweet vacation without time spent to climb to the top.

The Everest View trek begins with a spectacular morning, Mountain View flight to Lukla. Lukla airport at the altitude of 2800 is Nepal’s smallest yet busiest airstrip being the only aerial gateway to the Everest region.

From Lukla, our “Everest view trek” shifts to trails through the lush vegetation of Sagarmatha National Park.  Pine forests, rhododendron and an abundance of wildlife set a natural ambiance till arrival of Namche Bazaar (3440m). A day rest is must at Namche in order to adapt altitude beyond couple of hour walk from Namche. The key attraction of Everest view trek the “Tengboche monastery” at the height of 3860m is reached after the following day’s trek. Tenboche monastery built some 80 years back had been destroyed twice. Once by the great earthquake of Nepal and again by fire, it was for last time believed to be reconstructed in the 80’s and since then its standing tall and unaltered. It is believed that the monastery possess divine power, this is one reason why trekkers stop by for some blessings from the lamas (Sherpa priests). Besides the infrastructure of the monastery, Mani Rimdu a festival in Tengboche monastery is a ritual not to miss. The Mani Rimdu festival occurs only once in a year every year. This is the most famous and the largest monastery in Everest region offering a superb view of Everest and sister mountains from its courtyard. This trek to Tengboche monastery is termed as Everest view trek.
